God Got Jokes: He Said Give It Away

Updated: Mar 28, 2024

I ended yesterday’s (3.25.24) Blog Post titled, “Even in The Face of Embarrassment, I Will Obey God”, with telling you that I told God that if I needed to wear the pink robe (read that Blog Post to get the full story), I would wear it on the wrong side (inside out), so that the word ‘Juicy” would not show, and that I did not get any pushback from Him when I told Him that. I also added in that Blog right after that, “we’ll see”.

So… God got jokes. A little while after I completed that Blog Post, I went into my bathroom. And while I was in there, I talked to God; I thanked Him for giving me the strength to get through the day and complete all that I needed to accomplish for that day, and in the middle of me thanking Him, God told me to give the pink robe away. Just like that. And I burst out laughing because God is something else.

I laughed because it was as if, while I was thanking Him and going on and on and on, He was like, yeah, all of that sounds good, but now I want you to give the pink robe away. Like, He got right to the point. Lol.  And, He even told me who to give the robe to. Yup. God instructed me to give my pink robe to the same lady who I had given a brand-new pair of red sneakers to earlier that same day. So, while still laughing a little, I was like, okay God, will do.

Meanwhile, I started thinking and saying to myself that God really is a trip, because yesterday when I told Him that I would wear the pink the robe on the wrong side to avoid the word ‘Juicy” being displayed, He gave me absolutely no indication that He was against that idea. He could have told me at that moment that I was to give the robe away. But He did not. He waited. God is so strategic in everything that He does. I think that’s where I get it from. Lol.

Anyway, I still find this experience very funny because God is quite a character… In a very good way. And I love Him.

This morning when I finally got out of bed, I put the pink robe in a bag, in preparation to give it to the lady who lives in my building. I believe that she will love it. It’s so bright and cute and soft and fluffy. And it is practically new, thus, it is in great shape. I hope that it will be a blessing to her.

Obedience to God is everything. And we never know who will be blessed through our obedience to Him.

Be encouraged! God loves you.

Love and peace,

Yolanda Billingslea (Ms. B)
